Limited market change. The Peruvian fishing is finished, more or less with the quota filled. Chinese new year celebration is coming up. Lower production of salmon meal and oil (seasonal).

Last week we produced salmon meal and salmon oil from salmon which will not be fertile. The Atlantic Salmon (Salmo Salar) is a combination of salmon breeds from various rivers flowing into the Atlantic. The aim has been to produce a salmon which is growing well in sea cages. However, some of the criticism of Salmon farming is that the salmon may escape. And that the escaped fish may breed with the local stock (each river has a slightly different breed). Scientifically there is documented little mixed breeding. A farmed animal does not have the same probability of surviving in the sea, and swim up rivers to breed. Anyway, with a salmon which is not becoming fertile, this challenge will be removed.
